PRODUCTS

Soft-Tissue Injury Prevention Program

According to recent insurance industry estimates, soft-tissue injuries account for one-third of total claims and two-thirds of the total cost for workers' compensation losses. AGC partnered with Zurich, an insurance-based financial services provider, to develop training materials focusing on why soft tissue injuries occur. The materials also highlight effective methods to reduce the number of soft-tissue injuries such as back injuries, sprains and strains and pinched nerves-and most importantly, how you should reduce them.

The package includes:
> The Trainer's Manual with Instructional PowerPoint CD. It is an easy-to-use tool to assist the trainer in preparing and presenting the soft-tissue injury prevention program. It includes an instructional PowerPoint CD, that brings the concepts to life. Retail price: $127.50; Member price: $85
> The Easy-To-Understand Participant's Guide. It leads students through the program and serves as a great resource after the course. (Set of 10) Retail price: $75; Member price: $50 (Additional sets also available)
> The Training Videotape.  It enhances the course material by bringing to life examples of what to do and what not to do on the work site. Retail price: $173.25; Member price: $115.50 Save $100 by purchasing the entire package. Retail price: $325; Member price: $225

Take the Steps: Stairway & Ladder Safety for Construction (Video)
Did you know that every year hundreds of construction workers are injured and several die while working on ladders or stairways? AGC has developed a 15-minute video to help you understand the potential hazards of stairway and ladder use. It will explain industry standards for stairway and ladder construction, and review techniques and practices for their safe use. This industry resource helps you understand what steps to take-each and every time you use or work on stairways and ladders.
Retail price: $173.25; Member price: $115.50

Construction Estimating and Bidding: Theory-Principles-Processes (Second Edition)
This comprehensive text covers the entire estimating process. Well-written, logically sequenced and easy to understand, it has become the benchmark by which other such texts are judged. Construction Estimating and Bidding is ideal for AGC chapter-sponsored estimating classes as the basic text or a reference, and it has been accepted as the primary textbook by top instructors at many major university construction degree programs. The book was written by construction professionals-members of AGC's Construction Education Committee. Among other improvements, the Second Edition clarifies several examples, expands the scope of "Cost of Work," and updates the extensive glossary. Retail price: $127.50; Member price: $85
